At times, your cooling fan stops working because a sensor has gone lamentable, but the fan works just fine. A way to get round this situation is to wire in an happening and off transposition. This switch kit and boodle by eliminating the earth joining when it is switched "off" and reconnecting the ground when IT is "connected". The process of wiring this switch is relatively easy. You just ask to have it off the slump stairs.

Step 1

Locate a convenient pace to mount the switch. A good place is somewhere out of the way just still within gain. Clean that spot with rubbing alcohol and use the double-sided tape that was included with the switch to apply it in place. Use a screwdriver to screw in the self-tapping screws that were included with the switch to permanently gri it in place.

Pace 2

Locate a 12-volt power source by victimisation the multimeter. A good reference or so the switch is the cigarette lighter. Cut the power wire leading to the lighter, then cut a half-inch of covering from either side of the cut.

Step out 3

Cut out a piece of wire that is long adequate to strain from the hoy to the switch and still embody hidden. Cut a 1/2" of covering from both ends of the wire, then attach a clip that was included with the switch on one end of the wire and fight it into the 12-volt input tab of the switch.

Abuse 4

Twist the two ends of the light wire and the other end of the switch wire and solder them using solder and a soldering iron. Tape the wires with electrical videotape.

Step 5

Abbreviate three pieces of wire monthlong enough to reach from the substitution finished the firewall to the front of the engine compartment. Remove 1/2" of covering from each end of both wires.

Step 6

Unravel the wires through the dashboard, concealing them as well as possible. Remove the rubber hoopla in the firewall, then run the three wires through that hole and put back the rubber hype.

Step 7

Run two wires to the fan motor. Cut the power and ground cables from the fan motorial. Remove 1/2" of covering from the positive and negative wires running into the fan motor. Tie one of the spick-and-span wires to the positive wire and one to the dissident cable and solder them together. Protect them aside covering them with electrical record.

Tone 8

Locate a body ground under the hood of the vehicle. A saving way to locate a establish is to follow the footing wire of the battery.

Tread 9

Remove the ground from the body using a ratchet and socket to relax the egg. Connect the "eye" connector to the most recently remaining wire using the telegraph stripper to crimp the connector. Put the "eye" connector over the ground stud on top of the ground cable's length, so tighten the addict downward until it is fortified.

Step 10

Bond the connectors that were included with the switch to the three odd wires inside the fomite, using the wire stripper to crimp them on.

Step 11

Ballyhoo the connectors to the related to tabs connected the switch. The consistency ground connects to the ground input, the rooter affirmatory plugs into the 12-V output and the fan minus plugs into the ground output.

Step 12

Prove the fan by turning the car on and verifying it turns bump off and on as you convert the switch.

Secure the wires using zip ties. Pay special attention to avoiding moving parts and keeping your feet under the splasher.
